The cathedral, which will accommodate about four and half thousand believers, consists of two side chapels and a separate bell tower. Situated on the top of the hill it will become a clear symbol and a new dominant of the Gabon capital. In the course of their work the architects consulted their design for new cathedral with several specialists from among the Catholic clergy – the members of the specialist committee assessing design and construction of new spiritual temples in the Czech Republic. The greatest appreciation of the work of architects and specialists involved in the project came during the audience with Cardinal Miloslav Vlk in the Archbishop Palace in Prague-Hradčany. The complexity of the design for a new cathedral may not be viewed just by the fact that this was quite an usual project for our company but by the need to adjust the design to the effect of heavily tropical climate of the Equatorial Africa.
