The aim of the reconstruction project was to join the two adjoining buildings into a one functional whole. The aim of the reconstruction project was to create a congress and education centre and providing spaces allowing the CNB to present its aims and policies to the professional public in a style appropriate for the main national banking institution. After the reconstruction the building now houses a specialist library and the CNB archive, two multi-functional congress rooms and the education and exhibition areas with catering facilities. A new bank club was built on the ground floor of the building. This project provided a unique opportunity for the architects to restore historic interiors of the building. The reconstruction process was based on a principle of incorporating new components of modern appearance in the historic interiors.
