The new mountain hotel will be built on a complicated hilly site to harmoniously blend in with the natural horizon of the surrounding mountain landscape between the Great Fatra and Low Tatra ranges.

We chose a horizontal layering of the individual functional volumes that respects the geomorphological composition of the site and evoke geological layers. The design is based on local materials in deep-rooted structural contexts. The lower stone volume of the wellness section is divided from the upper wood volume of the hotel rooms by the inserted transparent volume of the hotel entrance floor on the terrace. The main hotel floor features an intensive green roof in the form of an alpine meadow.

The interior operation of the hotel complex is designed with the consistent division of operational traffic and the movement of hotel guests and visitors. The Wellness Centre in the lower stone section of the building evokes a cave complex. The main hotel floor is situated on a large terrace with views of the mountain panorama. The upper wood volume of the hotel rooms works with a cosy atmosphere and fireplace. The clarity of movement through the hotel space is enhanced by the grand interior atrium.
