The Services and Administration Building, which is a part of the services zone in Jičín Hospital, was built in the period between the wars (1923–1930) according to the them modernist concept for a hospital complex. The original appearance of this services and administration building had been negatively affected by several additions, giving a rather incoherent character before the recent reconstruction and extension, but the main factor was that the building was no longer capable to satisfy the needs of the hospital. The project originally proposed the reconstruction and extension of the existing building however, during the project preparation and following the detailed survey and studies it became clear that it would be much more practical to construct a new building on the base of the existing one. With a view of preserving the character of the entire complex, which is also situated in the close vicinity of an urban conservation area, the new building was designed following closely the original architectural concept for the previous building. The building has two above ground floor levels, an attic and a hip roof. The architectural design is based on the symmetric composition of the building plan with typical classic composition of facades reflecting the original architectural design concept. The Services and Administration Building consists of three separate operation zones – the catering, laundry and administration sections. Above the main entrance on the level of the second above ground floor there is an overhead covered passageway connecting the catering section and thereby the entire services and administration building to the main building of the hospital complex.
