The objective of the concept study was to develop a proposal for transformation of the area in Prague 7 – Holešovice which includes the Prague – Holešovice Railway Station, a transport centre with the metro, railway and bus stations. The Prague – Holešovice Railway Station is the only station providing the directed transport connection to Prague's Ruzyně Airport by EuroCity Pendolino train. This important transport centre was the main objective of the proposal. The concept study concentrated especially on the new Czech Railways Building which connects with the metro station. A new commercial centre will be built in the close vicinity, which will include high-capacity car park, administration buildings with commercial and services areas and also the all important open space in front of the railway station that has been missing so far. The expressive component of the proposal is the new railway station building with the multi-level service space (on the basement level 1 and the first two above ground levels) with booking offices, retail spaces and building service spaces. The floor level 3 is designated as office space. The dominant construction components include the massive beams over the railway corridor connecting the rear building with the railway station building. The commercial centre is designed as a single level space on the same level as the existing entrance halls of the railway and metro stations, situated partly below the ground level. The high-rise Czech Railways administration building situated beside the railway corridor in the close vicinity of Argentinská Street will taken on the function of a "lighthouse" marking the entrance to the Holešovice area.
