When it was built the Chodov Commercial Centre was the largest shopping centre in the Czech Republic. The scale of the project reflected the numerous highly demanding technical and architectural problems that had to be addressed in a short time allocated to design the centre. Helika’s team of designers was involved in the whole project development process from the design concept, which was worked out under the supervision of the Dutch architectural practice T+T Design, to the implementation of details of the interior design.

The centre is situated on the both sides of a busy road with a bridge providing connection between the two sections. The front façade of the centre is clearly visible to the visitors to the capital city arriving in D1 Highway. The Metro station is situated in the close vicinity to the centre and a system of underpasses provides direct connection to the retail areas of the centre. The Chodov Commercial Centre provided a nucleus of the new Prague 11 municipal area. The success of the shopping center project confirms that OBERMEYER HELIKA investor is currently preparing documentation for its major expansion .
