The Černý most Centre extension project will expand the retail space with an emphasis on sustainability and comfort for visitors. The challenge was to design a solution that would allow new commercial space to be built on the existing floor plan. These designs had to be adapted to the existing building structure.
The centre will grow by 32 shops, a restaurant and 3 new cinema halls. The project is implemented with an emphasis on sustainability principles, of course, it is necessary to comply with all the conditions for BREEAM certification, which the CČM currently meets. The project involves the use of grey water, low carbon concrete and recycling of existing structures. In the interior, larger areas of greenery will offer pleasant places to relax. Wood will be the dominant element of the interior. The construction works will be carried out while the shopping centre is fully operational in order to minimise the impact on its customers.
