This year, the Obermeyer Helika design and construction consultancy enters its third decade of operation in Slovakia. The origins of the Slovak office, which was established in 2004 as a subsidiary of the Czech division, are connected with the construction project of the Bory Mall shopping centre. Over the past twenty years, the Slovak office has managed to establish itself as one of the most stable design and consulting offices in the country. It is currently involved in a number of important projects, such as the construction of the new Vydrica district in Bratislava or the reconstruction and extension of the University Hospital in Bánská Bystrica.
„The currently emerging Vydrica urban district, which will be located right in front of Bratislava Castle, is an exceptional project that has gained a lot of public attention. It is clearly one of the most luxurious residential complexes in our capital city. The whole district is unique thanks to the combination of history and modern architecture,“ says Adriana Kokoška, Sales Director of Obermeyer Helika Bratislava. In addition to 370 apartments, Vydrica will offer four office buildings and almost a hundred retail units.
The Bratislava office works closely with the Brno division of Obermeyer Helika, which celebrates its third anniversary this year. The Brno division, originally a studio, has grown to its current staff of twelve designers and architects despite its short existence. This team has successfully completed several major healthcare projects, including the New Family Care Pavilion at Pelhřimov Hospital and the reconstruction of the Lanškroun Polyclinic. The Bratislava office and the Brno division are currently collaborating on a project to build logistics and light manufacturing halls on the site of the former ZETOR factory in Brno.
The Slovak office is currently participating in a number of interesting projects, including the extension of the Aupark shopping centre, the reconstruction of the functionalist Dunaj department store or the Metropolis project, which is being built in the new centre of Bratislava. Another significant achievement is the opportunity to participate in the reconstruction and extension of the University Hospital in Banská Bystrica.
The current projects are preceded by a number of successfully completed ones. Apart from the already mentioned Bory Mall project, these include the new construction of the National Institute of Heart and Vascular Diseases in Kramároch, the construction of The Mill office building or the construction of a heliport at the Ružinov University Hospital.
