The new Walk-Through Zone includes 18 retail units located at Terminals 1 and 2. Operationally, the airport is a facility with specific traffic and security restrictions.
As a result, the situation during the implementation of this project was complicated both in terms of approval processes on the airport side and in terms of the construction process. Constructions at the T2 terminal are carried out in the so-called Security Restricted Area, i.e. any tools on the construction site, objects dangerous from the point of view of air transport, must be constantly supervised so that they cannot come into contact with passengers. Operational measures in connection with COVID-19 and the reduced operation of the airport on the one hand helped to make the construction run smoother. On the other hand, it was difficult to manage logistics from the point of view of human resources, as many employees remained abroad and suppliers had to look for new solutions.
